Vetted Membership

Each PTBA member company has been rigorously reviewed and vetted by their peers prior to being offered membership. The application process includes a portfolio submission and in-depth review that evaluates:

  • Quality trail product documented by project photos and details

  • Professionalism as documented by letters of reference from clients and partners

  • Sponsorship by a current PTBA member company who has worked with the applying company and can attest to the quality of their trail product and professionalism

  • The review is a multi-stage, multi-month process that concludes with an all member vote

PTBA Member Companies are on a growth trajectory. In the last 5 years, they have seen 350% growth in gross revenue and 135% growth in employees. PTBA has had a 44% growth in PTBA member companies during that same time.

Even though PTBA is a subset of the trail industry, this data represents an increased investment in trails and a professionalization of our industry.

Member Company Code of Conduct

PTBA member companies commit to upholding a Member Code of Conduct that reflects the professionalism, integrity, and responsibility expected within the trail industry.

The Code of Conduct outlines expectations related to ethical business practices, legal compliance, professional conduct, workplace safety and respect, workforce development, and industry best practices. It reflects PTBA’s commitment to quality, sustainability, professionalism, and accountability across all aspects of trail planning, design, construction, and training.

All member companies are expected to conduct business with honesty and integrity, maintain respectful professional relationships, comply with applicable laws and regulations, and foster safe and inclusive workplaces.
