On November 25, 2025, the Falmouth Land Trust (FLT) and Chebegue & Cumberland Land Trust (CCLT) were awarded a grant amount of $221,731.45 from the Maine Trails Program (MTP) to upgrade and install trails in the shared Cross Falmouth and Cross Cumberland connected trail network. The Falmouth portion of the award is $107,955.73 for a contractor to increase the trailhead parking lot at Blackstrap Hill Preserve and to upgrade legacy trail sections along the Cross Falmouth-Cumberland Trail with more sustainable raised trail tread, using ditch-and-drain with native stone. The work is contingent upon execution of a formal project agreement with the Bureau of Parks and Lands.
